Before the year 2010 comes to its end, the CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg has announced just recently that the site is going to have a new makeover. Real People Back on Facebook Profiles

And finally all the cartoon profiles at Facebook bade us goodbye. It has been almost a week where majority of Facebook users changed their profile pictures to that of their favorite childhood cartoon character. It was not just for kicks but the changed was brought about by a cause that moved Facebook users to change their profiles.

The cause was dear to almost all of the users’ hearts as it was all about child abuse. A video went viral and it depicted a cartoon child being abused physically, thrown around and was even kicked down a flight of stairs. This began in Greece somewhere in the middle of November. In no time, it was easily picked up by the millions of Facebook users from all over the globe. Before you know it, on the first day alone the campaign urged about 90,000 Facebook users to change their profiles.

From one wall to another, users encouraged their friends to change their profile pictures until Deceber 6,2010 to show their support against the abuse being made to children. Obviously, Facebook users are keen bandwagon joiners when it comes to causes and advocacy that aim to create a ripple of change one wall after another.

This change your profile picture to your favorite cartoon character was not the first on Facebook. October last year and this year as well, women had posted “colorful” status to raise awareness against breast cancer. This just shows that everybody can and will do their share if encouraged to do so and if there is a platform for which to do it.

A Million Things to Do with the New MySpace

Wow! MySpace is totally new! The moment I visited the site, I took a step back. I had to double check if I really did land in on MySpace.com. The layout is very interesting. It is like a yahoo, google, youtube and every social networking site all rolled into one.

The music tab is simply amazing! In one page you get to view the top music video picks, watch it play and even see what the newest and recommended videos are. Commenting on the video is very easy as it is just like Youtube, you can leave comments below the video and even see who are online on the right side of the page.

Click on the topics tab and you will be overwhelmed by all the top new articles about your favorite movie stars, news and even TV guesting of your favorite stars. It seems that MySpace indeed overhauled everything and made social networking easier. I can imagine a lot of MySpace users spending countless hours using the site. It is not only about social networking now, but it is everything that you could ever want for your entertainment pleasure.

For those of you who love to sing, MySpace has a Karaoke tab! So sing your heart away, record it and share your performance to the whole world! You can even rate MySpace users’ karaoke performance. Better yet, if you have the voice then record your performance. Who knows, you might just be the next big discovery all because of MySpace.

As the layout is still new, I am surprised why it isn’t so difficult to find my way around. They have definitely made things a lot simpler for users. The question now is if MySpace will get back their dominance as they have before Facebook took the throne away? Who knows. But for now, MySpace is doing a great job.
