Obviously you would go ahead and say no! Cell phones did not exist inn 1928. In fact cell phones are devices that are being enjoyed since the beginning of this generation. Our parents didn’t grow up with hand held devices that would allow them to talk to anybody from anywhere.
If that is the case, then how did and old lady from one of the 1928 movies of Charlie Chaplin go around the premier of The Circus seemingly talking to somebody on the other line? George Clark, an indie film maker and a big fan of Bruce Lee and Charlie Chaplin discovered what he calls as a “time traveler” from Chaplin’s The Circus.
George played the footage over and over again focusing on the old lady who was holding a black device to her ear while talking. It could be nothing else but a mobile phone. But the thing is that cell phones did not exist at that time yet! Could this really be a time traveler who gave people in the 1920s a glimpse of what was going to happen in the future?
If you watch the footage closely, you would tend to agree that indeed the old woman was clutching a mobile phone and was talking with somebody. Even before the scene faded, the old woman it seems was trying to play a joke on the camera man because she turned around and faced the camera with a smile on her face. George and the 100 people he asked to view the footage are dumbfounded because they do not have any other explanation about the black device.
So was it a mobile phone? Or was it something else? You be the judge. Visit youtube and look up “Chaplin’s Time Traveler” and see for yourself if this was indeed a mobile device and the lady was telling her generation of what was to come.
Thousands of iPhone users are cursing the phone to high heavens because a lot of them were not able to go to work on time. Why? Because their iPhones failed to wake them up in time. In most countries DST or Daylight Saving Time has taken effect. Some earlier and some a few days ago. DST would mean that a certain country’s time would be reset to either an hour early or an hour late. And because of this change in time, iPhone did not automatically set its time accordingly as well.
iPhone users posted their angry comments using their Twitter accounts because according to disgruntled users, iPhone should have been able to adjust to DST on its own. As their alarm clocks went off an hour late, their schedules for the day suddenly became a mess.
The company has already said that they are now developing a software patch that would remedy the problem but for the users of iPhone it is a little too late. The damage has been done already and they are letting the whole world know that they are dissatisfied. A similar situation happened in Australia three weeks ago. iPhone users in that country changed to DST but this time their alarms went off one hour early. Not much complaints was heard because none were late.
This is not the first time for the past few months that iPhone has been receiving negative comments from their users. In fact, 2010 is not a really good year for the phone giant because of the problems that they and the users have experienced. Will this be the end of the iPhone woes of users? Well, hopefully it is.
Sadly those of you who are waiting for the release of the white iPhone from Apple Inc. would have to be disappointed yet again. Yes, again. It seems that Apple Inc. has been trying to produce the white iPhone and promised to have it release last June but when June came they said that the release will be moved to July instead.
July came and went and then after issuing apologizes Apple Inc. has once again said that the white iPhone will be available end of this year. Unfortunately we are on the last quarter of 2010 and Apple Inc. has once again issued a statement saying that the white iPhone will not be available this year but it will be made available early next year instead.
With all the waiting that the anxious would-be owners of the white iPhone are doing, Apple better make sure that they will indeed deliver. After all the anticipation and excitement for sure Apple Inc. will really try to iron out the kinks so that when the product is released everybody will just breathe as sigh of relief.
People are speculating that the cause of the delays must be the problems of matching the colors or even the backlight of the white iPhone. Whatever the real cause of the delay may be, for sure this will just make the consumers wait and make sure that they will be one of the firsts to own the white iPhone.
Apple Inc. does not have any problems selling their phones anyway and the delay for the white version is simply building up the momentum of the I-must-have-it mentality of the people. As the world snatched up the black iPhone when it was released, it will surely be pandemonium when the latest version of Apple’s iPhone will be out in the market.
