It seems that people these days will just believe anything they read and hear especially if this news came from the Internet. Have we forgotten that the internet is easily accessible by anybody who wants to write about anything he or she thinks about? The latest brouhaha that has caught a lot of fire was the rumored end of Facebook.
The screams of all Facebook users worldwide can almost be heard the moment they got a wind of this news. Apparently, a certain website passed off as gospel truth the rumor that there will be no more Facebook beginning March 15,2011. The horror of logging in on the internet without accessing the most popular social networking site in the planet! This website has said that the founder and CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, has allegedly gotten tired of the fame and fortune so he just wants to end everything so that he could be back to to living an anonymous life.
Obviously, this rumor couldn’t be possible as there were no official news from the Facebook people themselves. When asked about the rumor, Facebook Director of Corporate Communications Larry Yu said that the rumor is not true and wants people to stop believing it. The first clue why we shouldn’t have believed this rumor in the first place is the website that published the article itself. They are the same people who said there will be an Alien invasion this year and the news about George Clooney running for President.
So all Facebook users can now continue to enjoy connecting with friends and loved ones because Facebook isn’t going anywhere.
