How to Roast a Turkey

roast turkey

Thanksgiving has passed and Christmas is just around the corner. For sure a lot of families will have all kinds of turkey recipes in mind so that all the left overs from the star of the Thanksgiving, the Turkey, is fully consumed. You can have Turkey sandwich, Turkey salad and even use the bones as a soup stock so that you have a heart warming soup to warm you up the next rainy day comes.

For those of us who can’t seem to perfect the art of roasting a Turkey, help is on the way. Admittedly, roasting and basting the Turkey can be challenging especially for those of us who can’t seem to find our way in the kitchen. To help Turkey lovers roast a perfect Turkey, remember that a meat thermometer can be your best friend.

First thing you must consider is the weight of your Turkey. As most Turkeys are bought frozen, NEVER roast it immediately. Remember to thaw it first but not at room temperature because that will make bacteria grow and cause havoc in your tummies. Thaw it inside the refrigerator and once it is thawed then you can put your seasoning on the skin and inside the cavity as well.

A 12-14 pound turkey must be roasted between 3 and 3 3/4 hours unstuffed or 3 1/2 to 4 hours if stuffed. A 14-18 pound turkey on the other hand must be roasting in the oven for 3 3/4 to 4 1/4 hours unstuffed and 4 to 4 1/4 hours stuffed. When you are down to your last hour, this is where your meat thermometer will come in handy. Once the internal temperature of the turkey reached 180 degrees F in the thigh and 165-170 degrees F in the breast, then that is your clue that the turkey is ready to serve. Never allow the tip of the meat thermometer to hit the bone because that won’t give you a very good reading.

Once your turkey is ready, don’t carve it immediately after taking it out from the oven. Let it rest for about 15 minutes and you are set to go. Now you are ready to serve Turkey on your dinner table.

Make a Christmas List and Stick With It

christmas shopping

Christmas shopping is the surest way of becoming poorer for the next year. With all the holiday sales and parties and gift giving that everybody needs to participate in, our wallets will surely take a beating. This has been the common scenario year in and year out, but this year, we can do something about it and we can rein in the spending.

First on the list is well, a list. A Christmas list that is. Having a list will help you stay within the budget. First thing you must do is to come up with a budget. How much are you willing to spend for this holiday season? The sooner you have a working budget, the better it is for your gift giving list.

Now that you have identified how much you can only spend for your Christmas list, the next thing to do is to list down the names of the people that you want to give gifts to. Make sure to add an extra space for people that you forgot to list down. It is safe to add an extra five on your list so that you will not be caught unaware if suddenly you remembered somebody but forgot to put their name on the list.

The next step is to divide your budget by the number of people you plan to give gifts to. This way you get to have a figure in your mind when you go to the malls and bazaars for your gifts. You may also want to put a value beside each name, this way you still have an idea up to how much you allow yourself to spend.

Remember that a list will still amount to nothing if you won’t follow it. So to have a merry Christmas stick within the budget.

How To Get a Call Back After the Interview

job interview

Having a job is a must especially nowadays where the economy isn’t doing good. Whatever job is available, for sure you would want to grab it as soon as you can. But why is it that even if you feel that you surely impressed your interviewer, you just don’t hear from them again. It is the classic case of “Don’t call us, we’ll call you.”

This can be very frustrating because you are sure that you gave a really good impression and by the looks of it, the next step would be to receive a call from them telling you that you are hired! But you have been waiting and waiting but not a single call came through. To make it worse, this is not the first time that this happened to you.

Bear in mind that competition for one position is fierce. There are a lot of people like you who are giving their Curriculum Vitae a spruce up so that it becomes and impressive document about yourself. You did try to update your CV, right? One common mistake of job seekers is taking their CV for granted. This piece of paper will be your first step forward and we all know that you should always give your best as first impressions last. If the interviewer is not impressed with your CV, for sure you don’t stand a chance of getting a call back.

Could it be that you turned the interviewer off by sounding too needy? Of course you need a job but you don’t have to sound as if your life depended on it. Control yourself and be presentable. Nobody wants a weakling to be a part of their team. The other side of the spectrum would be that you sounded too sure of yourself that is why you didn’t get a call back either. If you are airy and conceited, then you are a one man show. A company is formed by a team who works together and not by a star who needs the limelight for himself only. Balance is the key.

Lastly, you have to constantly learn. There’s a lot of new things that are constantly popping up so update your skills and learn to multi-task. Companies would rather hire people who can put in a lot for the group.

Developing a Marketable Product

Things to consider:

1. Target audience: who are they? what are they interested in? why would they be interested in your product?
2. Current market situation: what is everybody else offering and for what target audience?
3. Your product: where’s the opportunity for it? What is its unique selling point as compared to similar existing products?

Defining a niche:

1. Is anybody offering anything in the same niche?
2. Is anybody offering the same product for the same target audience?
3. What makes the niche unique?
4. What makes the niche potentially profitable?
5. Is my niche too wide?
6. Is my niche too narrow?
– If the niche is untapped, what could be the reason nobody is offering anything in it?

Analyzing the market:

1. What is the approach used by the existing product providers?
2. What is the price range for the existing products?
3. What is the estimated demand?
4. Does the market rely largely on paid advertising, partner relationships or organic SERPs?

Your product should have a future:

1. Develop the initial offer – what is the best angle to start with? By starting with an offer that is too wide, it will be difficult to cut down your losses if your product fails.
2. Develop a few possible scenarios for your product’s further development: what will happen if the initial offer is successful, what will happen if it is not as successful as you hoped it to be, what will happen if it got no customer response at all
3. Make a development plan for your product for the next 6 months, next year, etc.

Defining a possible new product opportunity:

1. Identify an existing problem
2. See if any solutions to it currently exist
3. If there are solutions, see what the drawbacks of these solutions are
4. Think of a (better) way to solve the problem
5. Testing the potential interest in your solution: before developing the product itself, write an e-book describing the problem and possible solution without giving away too much, offer it for free to those who sign up at your site (e.g. through PPC) – if the rate of sign ups and your e-book downloads is high so is the potential for your solution.

Things to be Considered for Proper Link Building Process

In the area of link building, there are many important factors to remember. After all, link building is the single most important part of achieving a high-ranking website in modern search engines. As such, there are many things that can significantly impact the growth and spread of links to your site:

• Make sure your site has something that other webmasters in your niche would be interested in linking to.

• Create content that people will be willing to link to, even if it is not directly easy to monetize. These linkworthy pages will lift the authority and rankings of all pages on your site.

• Create something that legitimate webmasters interested in your topic would be interested in linking to.

• When possible, try to get your keywords in many of the links pointing to your pages.

• Register, participate, or exchange links with other related websites. Be part of their discussion or at least a little bit closer to the discussion.

• Look for places from which you can get high-quality free links (like local libraries or chambers of commerce).

• If you have some good internal content, try to get direct links to your inner pages.

• Produce articles and get them syndicated to more authoritative sites.
• Start an interesting and unique blog (like mine seo specialist blog) and write about your topics, products, news, and other sites in your community.

• Comment on other sites with useful relevant and valuable comments.

• Participate in forums to learn about what your potential consumers think is important. What questions do they frequently ask? How do you solve those problems.

• Issue press releases with links to your site.

• Leave glowing testimonials for people and products you really like. Often times when the product owner or person posts the testimonials, they will include a link back to your site.

• Sponsor charities, blogs, or websites related to your site.

• Consider renting links if you are in an extremely competitive industry. Adult, gaming, credit and pharmacy categories will likely require link rentals and/or building topical link networks.

• Mix your link text up. Adding words like buy or store to the keywords in your some of your link text can make it look like more natural linkage data and help you rank well for many targeted secondary phrases.

• Survey, including what ideas, tools or articles has become industry standard or famous information? What ideas are missing from the current market space that could also filled that niche?

• If you have large site, make sure you create legitimate reasons for people to want to reference more than just your homepage.
