The world is going to miss the actor who perfected the art of deadpan comedy. Who wasn’t able to watch the Naked Gun sequels that made Leslie Nielsen a household name. Now, the world bids goodbye to the white haired comic who made life a little bit bearable through the movies that he starred in.
At 84, Leslie Nielsen has lived a full life having been married four times and fathering two daughters in his second marriage. Not a lot of people know but he was an enlist of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was born in Canada and even became a disc jockey before venturing into the world of TV and Movies. Although he starred in some serious movies and was even lauded for his superb performance, Leslie will be best remembered through his Naked Gun series. Leslie’s role in Naked Gun was as a police investigator who bungled his way around in trying to solve the cases. Even if he did more harm that good as a police investigator but still in the end all thing work together for good and he ends up solving the case anyway.
Spoofs and parody will never be the same without Leslie. Sure there will be actors who would try to fit into his shoes but they will have a hard time trying to fit into really big shoes. As proof of Leslie’s positive contribution to the TV and Film industry, he has numerous awards and inducted into the Canada (his birthplace) and Hollywood Walk of Fame where he really shined and made his mark.
Leslie passed away in the presence of his wife and some friends after battling with complications brought about by his pneumonia. He breathed his last at a hospital near the place he called home in Fort Lauderdale Florida.

Thanksgiving has passed and Christmas is just around the corner. For sure a lot of families will have all kinds of turkey recipes in mind so that all the left overs from the star of the Thanksgiving, the Turkey, is fully consumed. You can have Turkey sandwich, Turkey salad and even use the bones as a soup stock so that you have a heart warming soup to warm you up the next rainy day comes.
For those of us who can’t seem to perfect the art of roasting a Turkey, help is on the way. Admittedly, roasting and basting the Turkey can be challenging especially for those of us who can’t seem to find our way in the kitchen. To help Turkey lovers roast a perfect Turkey, remember that a meat thermometer can be your best friend.
First thing you must consider is the weight of your Turkey. As most Turkeys are bought frozen, NEVER roast it immediately. Remember to thaw it first but not at room temperature because that will make bacteria grow and cause havoc in your tummies. Thaw it inside the refrigerator and once it is thawed then you can put your seasoning on the skin and inside the cavity as well.
A 12-14 pound turkey must be roasted between 3 and 3 3/4 hours unstuffed or 3 1/2 to 4 hours if stuffed. A 14-18 pound turkey on the other hand must be roasting in the oven for 3 3/4 to 4 1/4 hours unstuffed and 4 to 4 1/4 hours stuffed. When you are down to your last hour, this is where your meat thermometer will come in handy. Once the internal temperature of the turkey reached 180 degrees F in the thigh and 165-170 degrees F in the breast, then that is your clue that the turkey is ready to serve. Never allow the tip of the meat thermometer to hit the bone because that won’t give you a very good reading.
Once your turkey is ready, don’t carve it immediately after taking it out from the oven. Let it rest for about 15 minutes and you are set to go. Now you are ready to serve Turkey on your dinner table.

Christmas shopping is the surest way of becoming poorer for the next year. With all the holiday sales and parties and gift giving that everybody needs to participate in, our wallets will surely take a beating. This has been the common scenario year in and year out, but this year, we can do something about it and we can rein in the spending.
First on the list is well, a list. A Christmas list that is. Having a list will help you stay within the budget. First thing you must do is to come up with a budget. How much are you willing to spend for this holiday season? The sooner you have a working budget, the better it is for your gift giving list.
Now that you have identified how much you can only spend for your Christmas list, the next thing to do is to list down the names of the people that you want to give gifts to. Make sure to add an extra space for people that you forgot to list down. It is safe to add an extra five on your list so that you will not be caught unaware if suddenly you remembered somebody but forgot to put their name on the list.
The next step is to divide your budget by the number of people you plan to give gifts to. This way you get to have a figure in your mind when you go to the malls and bazaars for your gifts. You may also want to put a value beside each name, this way you still have an idea up to how much you allow yourself to spend.
Remember that a list will still amount to nothing if you won’t follow it. So to have a merry Christmas stick within the budget.

Wow! MySpace is totally new! The moment I visited the site, I took a step back. I had to double check if I really did land in on MySpace.com. The layout is very interesting. It is like a yahoo, google, youtube and every social networking site all rolled into one.
The music tab is simply amazing! In one page you get to view the top music video picks, watch it play and even see what the newest and recommended videos are. Commenting on the video is very easy as it is just like Youtube, you can leave comments below the video and even see who are online on the right side of the page.
Click on the topics tab and you will be overwhelmed by all the top new articles about your favorite movie stars, news and even TV guesting of your favorite stars. It seems that MySpace indeed overhauled everything and made social networking easier. I can imagine a lot of MySpace users spending countless hours using the site. It is not only about social networking now, but it is everything that you could ever want for your entertainment pleasure.
For those of you who love to sing, MySpace has a Karaoke tab! So sing your heart away, record it and share your performance to the whole world! You can even rate MySpace users’ karaoke performance. Better yet, if you have the voice then record your performance. Who knows, you might just be the next big discovery all because of MySpace.
As the layout is still new, I am surprised why it isn’t so difficult to find my way around. They have definitely made things a lot simpler for users. The question now is if MySpace will get back their dominance as they have before Facebook took the throne away? Who knows. But for now, MySpace is doing a great job.

Is Pope Benedict XVI softening on his stand regarding the use of condoms? The Pope has a book published entitled “Light of the World: The Pope, the Church and the Signs of the Times” and it covers a myriad of issues concerning the followers of the Catholic faith.
Among the controversial topics is the use of condom. For the longest time the Catholic church has been adamant in their stand for the faithful not to use any form of contraceptives from pills, to condoms, everything except sexual abstinence. But now, the Pope seems to be softening up a little bit by saying in his book that condoms can be used “in certain cases”.
The “in certain cases” means that the use of condoms will still not be acceptable for everybody and for whatever reason they may see fit. The phrase simply means that if a Catholic faithful is found to have HIV- AIDS then he can use condoms to help spread the virus to his partner.
According to the Church, sex is an acceptable activity only for married people and with their wedded partners only. Sex is a gift from God and married couples shouldn’t try and use any form of contraceptive as they try to “go forth and multiply”. Condoms are supposed to promote promiscuity especially amongst young people and makes the sexual act “banal” and not an expression of their love.
Now, the Pope has said that using condoms is not totally unacceptable but can be used for the prevention of spreading diseases like HIV. But still according to the Pope more must be done to address the root of the problem.
